"Oh! These look so yummy!" Bow took the treats, examining them like they were little treasures. "You didn't have to get so much though. You don't like sweets so much, right?"
He set the treats aside for now, setting about cooking. "Do you have a pan, or something..?" Uhg, maybe it was a bad idea to cook with Darren in the kitchen. He sort of... winded it everytime he cooked. He could do it, but he'd taught himself, so it was unconventionaly. "Ah... I might be too nervous with you in here..."

"I've never had a reason to eat many of them." He said truthfully, shrugging at him. "I thought perhaps you would like them." He didn't say anything else. He had been worried he was going to be boring, and he had compensated with the cakes and the drinks in hopes that they would be distracting enough from his plain, yawn inducing conversation.
A frown spread over his features when Bow mentioned he was nervous, or might be with him in the kitchen, and he looked about for a moment before he gave a small shrug. "I'll go in the living room then?" He offered, getting out a pan for him, pointing to where the rest were. "I don't want you hurting yourself because I made you mess up." Thats all he needed, he could hear the laughter from his friend allready.

[Skipping aheeeead, because I don't know how to cook, and writing about people eating is boring]
Bow leaned back from the table, one hand propping himself up on the floor. He was enjoying one of the fruity drinks, watching Darren attempt to eat his food. He'd used chicken. That what he said he liked, right? And he tried to make it spicy enough for him, he wasn't too sure if it was good or not. Darren had said either way.
He sighed, ready to take a nap. He hadn't even eatten, except for two of those little cakes, and yet he was ready to sleep. He and Darren were such opposites. "...Was it good?"

He had tried, he really had. He managed, much to his own shock, to eat a good portion of it, but his stomach couldn't handle much more then that, and he was full by the time half of it was gone. It was good though, the delight on his face that he didn't know was there said as much as he put the plates away. He was pleased to see Bow eat the cakes and the drink, glad he hadn't failed at that at least.
"It was very good." He said truthfully, standing near the other to stare down at him with a small smile. "Very good." He repeated. Darren bent from his lofty height, gently toeing the sleepy looking boy. So very much like a puppy..
"You promised me your stories." He reminded him quietly. "Shall I carry you to your room? If food makes you this tired id hate to see what a full dinner does." He commented, feeling so relaxed for once. He didn't have to write anything, he wasn't being rushed. At the moment, he wasn't being awkward either..yet.

"Mmh, yeah?" Bow gave Darren a sleepy smile, running his free hand through his hair. He titled his head back to look up at him, blinking a little slowly. "Maybe I'll teach you how to make it next time..."
He yawned, moving to stand up. "Nah, I can still walk. Heh, like you would carry me anywhere anyway. Mister, touching people is icky." He stretched, moving over towards the door. "I've got some sake in my room, too, if you want some." He bent down to pick up his shoes. No point in putting them back on.

He frowned at the touching comment, only breifly. "Its people touching me." He reminded him quietly. "I can touch who ever I please." Not that..he would, but still there was a point to be made! Though, there was a red tint to his ears again.. "And, if you were sleepy enough..I would at least carry you to something more comfortable then the floor." He said, barely above a whisper as he got up once more.
He didn't bother with shoes himself, he would shower later, and merely shuffled after the other. "Sounds like the proper drink to read something like that." He commented, once more doing his best not to scowl and look like the male model for doom and gloom. "Lead the way."

"Oh, is that how it works?" Bow grinned back at Darren over his shoulder, leading him out into the hallway. "Like kicking me~" He chuckled, mounting the stairs. "You're a nice guy, you know? the floor's not a bad place to sleep, though."
The hit the second floor, taking another set of stairs. Bow was thankful that Darren hadn't asked him how he got his hands on sake. Not that it mattered. It wasn't hard to do.
"I'm still so surprised that we live in the same building. Now i can come bother you whenever I like."

He shook his head, looking surprised behind his thin framed glasses when he was told he was nice. "You obviously haven't spoken to me enough yet." And he left it at that. Sure, he had his moments, he knew he did, but nice? Not likely. He viewed his nice moments of the rare times when he didn't want to strangle someone. Like..now, but still that didn't make him..that..nice. Oh damnit, this boy made his headache.
"I don't go out often, probably how we missed each other. And as long as its not early morning, go ahead." He said, once again surprising himself. It would be nice to have someone at least to say hello to. His snakes didn't count, and his hellos to his editor ended in a rude 'fuck you'.
"Especially if you bring coffee." Coffee was his vice. He would welcome the boy with open arms.

"Nah, mean guys don't invite strangers to see their snakes, let them fix them dinner, and then be willing to pick them up if they fall asleep." Bow reached the third floor, heading for the very last apartment at the end of the hall.
"I'd bring coffee, of course. And food. That's the last thing I need: walking into your apartment and finding you dead from starvation."

His mouth opened for a moment to comment that various folks would do things like that, rapists for example, but his mouth quickly shut right after with an audible snap and he decided against that. A comment like that might very well shatter what little 'friendship' he had managed here and have the boy run away screaming. All he needed was some attractive, young man to scream rapist in an apartment hallway. That would end well...
"Let me pretend I'm mean." He said quietly, scowling at the back of Bow's head. "It let's me think I have something to live up to."
His fake scowl turned into a frown when he mentioned walking in on him dead. "I do eat you know, I just dont remember to often." The russian told him, sniffing. At least now he was comfortable enough not to stutter..yet. But when he saw that they were indeed at Bow's apartment, he shifted nervously from foot to foot, doing his best not to make eye contact, instead admiring the rather bland carpet. Perhaps the meaning of life was in there...
"If you bring me food often I'll get use to it." He warned quietly, hoping his blush was at least going unnoticed.

"Something to live up to..?" Bow laughed, just opening his apartment door. "Look at it this way: If you start being nice to everyone, maybe those fans of yours will loose interest." He turned to look at Darren, noticing the blush and the awkward way he was shifting from foot to foot, but he didn't say anything. Really, commenting on how much this man blushed would probably not be a very good idea.
Bow led the older man into his apartment, stepping aside as he dropped his shoes and let the other man enter. Their apartments were the same, of course, except for their own touches. Darren's thing was snakes, and Bow's was apparently books. The living space was lined with bookshelves, nearly every inch of available wall had a book case up against it. "I finally got around to unpacking everything this morning..."
His apartment looked more lived in, it had a homey feel to it. "You still want that sake?"

He did his best not to look around, at first, but then his eyes caught one of his most favorite things in the world, and he sighed almost happily. This boy was someone he could respect, especially if some of those books were along the lines of the ones he enjoyed to read. His fingers itched to touch, but he kept them in his pockets as he followed after him.
"It's..nice." He said lamely, but that one word said very much. He loved the books, and he had to drag his eyes back to look at Bow.
"Ah...sure. "A drink would be nice for what he was about to read, but he detached himself from those sorts of things normally, and he was sure he could just view this boys writing for what it was. Writing and not...gay porn. He hoped anyway.
He wasn't sure how to ASK to see his work, and looked uncomfortable again. "Why don't you show me what you think is your better work?" Detached, he must remain detached.

"Ah, thanks. I keep moving things around." Bow chuckled, carrying the bag of treats with him into the kitchen. He loved books, obviously, but his mother was the type of woman who couldn't stand for him to have anything that made him happy. He felt a little rediculous for hiding his books at a friends house, but it was the only way around having them burned. It was nice to have them back.
"You can wait in here," The kitchen, "Nothing's really organized yet, so I'll have to look." He rummaged around the cabinets, finding his sake and two little shot glasses. He set them down on the table before he moved into his bedroom.

He nodded, leaning gingerly against the counter as he watched the other. He had to add though, quietly mind you, that -"Organization is a sign of an insane mind." He told him. There was a smile on his face though as he said it. His own place obviously lacked stuff to even be organized with.
He hadn't drank in awhile, mainly because drinking alone was some of the most depressing things you could do, so he hopped Bow wouldn't expect him to have much more then a shot. He was pretty sure he would get drunk easily and quickly if given the right situation, and a drunk shy russian? No thank you.
"Thank you for the drink." he told him lightly, watching the boy when he was sure he couldn't make eye contact. "It's always nice to get a chance to read another writers work before their famous and have ah..well in the case of your stories, boys pawing at you." See, see he could think bad things to!

"Who's to say I'm not insane?" Bow's voice drifted in from his bedroom, just above the sound of things being shuffled about. "I came to Japan in hopes of getting yaoi published, that's not such a sane idea."
He came back out, a couple pieces of loose leaf paper in his hand. He didn't have a lap top yet, so he had to write everything by hand. He stood in the doorway, looking thoughtful. "You're welcome... Say, Darren, what other languages do you speak? Besides the obvious."
