[For Saint! ^^ Yeah, the most creative title ever.]
Sunny, warm days were what Spark Connor loved the most. Summer was just around the corner and today was one of those hot days where no matter what you did, you always felt too hot. Connor did what he could to stay remotely cool while still being in the sun so he laid floating around on his back at the local outdoor pool. It was quite crowded today but that was hardly surprising and the Irish man liked it that way, then he blended into the crowd. His height, almost red hair and green eyes often made him stick out but not today when too many were too busy with racing, diving or splashing water at each other. The only real thing that made him stick out on day like this was his pretty large burn on his right lower arm that he’d caught several kids stare at already.
He was beginning to feel bored though. He’d been floating about for about an hour and a half and he wouldn’t mind to have someone to talk to or whatever. The heat was also slowly getting to him even though he was in the cool, chlorine blue water. Slowly he sank deeper into the water, staying at the tip of his freckled nose and scanned the area like an Irish little sea predator, while wondering whether he should get out of the water or not. The chances for him to meet someone of interest were higher at the pool café but he decided to give the water one last chance of action.

Hiromitsu was tanning. Or at least that's what he told anyone who woke him up in his chair. Really, he was catching up on sleep that his roommate wouldn't let him have because the guy had girls over all the time and Mimi had to wander around all night unless he wanted to hear them having sex. Which, frankly, that grossed him out. Mimi knew he was gay, he'd known since grade school.
The screaming children and splashing water was his white noise for the time being and helped him sleep. Weird in a way, but perfect for him. His bleached hair streaked with blue and grin was down and spilling around him, making small piles on the cement. And he'd been having a good dream until some kid with a bucket of water splashed it on him.
He sat up with a startled noise and looked around, dripping wet from the chest down and growled. Mimi hated the pool. He hated children. Huffing, he gathered up the mass he called hair and braided it. His skin was feeling so tight from sleeping in the sun. With a grumble, Mimi padded over to the pool in his speedo and stood there with his hands on his hips, looking around.
Mimi was slender, very much so since he was active and a college freshmen. Stretching himself out he sat down and dipped his tan feet into the water, sighing at the coolness of it, his hands tugging his braid over his shoulder so it draped across his chest. "Man.... Stupid kids..."

It took Connor about half a minute to realise that the pool hosted practically no one but loud kids and annoyed parents. Oh, well.. he might as well get up, he’d been soaking for ages anyway.
With a small sigh he turned and began to move towards the pool edge. As he turned he spotted the tanned, younger man which made him stop again. The blonde hair with streaks of colour was the first thing to catch his attention but it didn’t take long for his eyes to travel down his slim body which made his Irish heart skip a beat. An approving little sound escaped his lips as a slight grin spread across his face. Maybe he should stay in the water for just a little while longer.
A few feet separated the two of them and freckled man didn’t hesitate to shorten the distance. With discretion he swam over and got close enough for him to catch the man’s mumbling which made him snicker.
“Awh, they’re not that bad” he said, with bright green eyes looking up at the man who just got seated.

"Not that bad my ass," he muttered, eyes looking up from playing with the end of his braid and blinked when he saw who he was talking too. Red hair, green eyes and pale skin. Gotta try speaking Engl.... "...How do you know Japanese?" He asked, hands clutching his braid for security.
Foreigners always scared him, he never knew what to expect from them. Swallowing a bit before sighing softly as his brows wrinkled. "...Uhm... Hi..?" He asked quietly, looking around, feeling slightly self aware. He pulled one of his legs up to his chest and hugged it, leaning forward to look at the other man. He was good looking... Very good looking indeed, Mimi gave him that.
Shaking his head and fighting off insecurity, he grinned at the other and gave him a wink. "Not that bad said the one who didn't get splashed while he was sleeping and tanning. How would you like to be nice and warm and then suddenly your balls are freezing off because that's where they splashed?"
Clearly he was wet. His chest was glistening, his legs had water on them still. Kicking his foot, he hoped to splash the other before slipping down the edge to get into the pool, not caring about the little distance between them.

The grin on Connor’s face grew bigger, seemingly how he’d caught the other man off guard. He was somewhat used to tongue tying people, especially when speaking Japanese since most people took him for a regular tourist. Connor had been living in Japan for a bit over four years so his Japanese wasn’t perfect but he was getting there if you saw past his somewhat funny accent.
“How? Well, I live here. And hi!” he smiled, narrowing his eyes since the sun above was starting to bug him. “I’m sorry about your balls!” he then laughed thinking that the blonde above was becoming more interesting by the minute. If there was anything Connor really appreciated in another man was a sense of humour and self irony.
After playfully tilting his head to avoid the water Mimi sent for him he was happy to see the other man joining him in the pool. To give the man some room he moved slightly backwards but only ended up about just a foot or two away.
“My name’s Connor, by the way..” he smiled and offered his right hand, vaguely aware of his unattractive burn but tried not to think about it. That burn was the only thing Connor really hated about himself, something he’d grown to hate. He got it as a kid after pouring boiling water on top of himself but as a kid that kind scar was a cool thing to show off during school, as a grown up though, if wasn’t much of a show off. Especially not when trying to pick up tanned, really beautiful men who according to Connor seemed to be lacking flaws.

Lived here, huh? Well, that was interesting. Standing in the water, he saw how close the Irish man was still and gave a half embarrassed, half shy smirk. Apparently no boundaries for personal space, which Mimi sort of needed. He chuckled and looked to the side at some of the children who were being dragged out of the water by their mothers and shook his head. Good thing he didn't worry about things like that anymore.
"So... Connor," he took Connor's hand and gave it a firm shake before grabbing his wrist and examining his arm. "Forget the lotion?" He asked in a teasing manner. He didn't mind burns; some of his paler friends burned easily. But not that bad. Ah, well. Mimi's skin might look flawless, but at a close inspection, one would see a few freckles smattering here and there, a result of his tanning.
"Guess you can call me Mimi, like everyone else," he said with a shrug, not really caring what Connor called him. He'd smack him if he called him anything embarrassing.
Brushing beside the other, he moved further into the water, hips swaying as he walked, and then went to the opposite side to relax against the wall there, pulling the rope he called a braid up so it wouldn't get wet just yet. He put it on the edge of the pool and sighed, smirking to Connor. "You're accents off, but good. How long have you been living here and why Japan?"

Connor was surprised to find that Mimi had such a firm hand shake. He was liking this man more and more by the minute. “Ah, this?” he asked and brought his arm out of the water for closer inspection, he wasn’t exactly used to it being joked about but after thinking about it, he found the other’s question rather amusing. “I guess you could say that” he laughed and let his other hand ghost over the burn, as if hiding it and soon placed it under water again.
“Mimi? That’s a nice name” he said with a smile thinking that the name fit perfectly with its owner. It was apparently a nickname but that didn’t matter. Connor wouldn’t really give his full name to a complete stranger either. But he was kind of curious to know what his real name was as he followed him with his eyes as the man moved past him to the other edge, turning in his direction.
“I know, but I suppose your English is a bit wonky as well. Or am I wrong” he added the last in English with his really thick Irish accent and with a big smirk on his face. If the other one could tease, so could he. “And as an answer to your question I’ve been living here for about what, four years? I just simply wanted to get as far away from home as possible. I mean, I love Ireland, but… yeah.” he trailed off and he crossed his arms in slight discomfort while distant memories of home came back. He was slightly reluctant to open up to this man who he’d only known for a couple of minutes, but then again it wasn’t that much of a big deal. He shook his head and snapped out of it quickly, returning with a big grin. “And why Japan, well.. I saw a documentary about Japan on TV as a kid and I’ve been wanting to go ever since. It’s quite funny once you think about it, I could’ve ended up anywhere and here I am, in a pool with you. Not that that is a bad thing, quite the opposite actually.” Connor said and splashed some in Mimi’s direction since he didn’t seem too keen on getting that wet.
"What about you? Always lived here in Tokyo?"

"Maybe not always. I'm here for college. Going to be a professional photographer, you know." He said, growling as he was splashed. Great, his hair was wet now. "Now I got to take down my hair..." He hated his hair down in water unless he was showering, but if he left it up while wet, it knotted so much worse. So he tugged the braid back over his shoulder to start unbraiding it, running his hands through it as he did.
"...My English sucks, but I'm not planning on using it much," he said with a shrug and then smirked. "You look like a Stlah-bully shoto-Kaku." Indeed, his English sucked just like he said it did. Finally finished with that, Mimi sunk into the water, almost laying down to get his hair wet before he came back up, right in front of the Irish man. He held out his own arm to show him the few freckles he had and then smirked a bit. "It's not hard to get freckles, you know. Make up does wonders for one's skin, though."
Mimi moved away so the kids wouldn't start chanting or screaming about homosexuals in the pool and sat up on the edge, soaking up more sun as he watched the Irish man. His head tilted to one side, brown eyes narrowed as if thinking. "You're not a bad guy, Connor.." He struggled with the name yet again. "Want to get something to eat after a while? Good ramen stand not to far from here... Or do you stick with the English food?"

“I look like a what?” he snickered and couldn’t agree more with the blonde; yeah, his English sucked but Connor found Japanese people talking English incredibly charming. Connor could only hope that his Japanese also sounded somewhat charming but he had his doubts.
The other man seemed a little self conscious of his hair, Connor noticed when the blonde once again began fidgeting with it. He was glad to see the man letting it out, it suited him better and he couldn’t help but wanting to play with it. It seemed soft and Connor guessed it smelled real nice too. His own red hair, he gave a small sigh as he thought about it, was beyond unruly, thick and curly and no matter what he did, he never got quite at ease with it. Fighting with a flattening iron did some wonders though.
Connor was surprised to see the man disappear under the surface of the water, even more surprised to see him resurface right in front of him. An unwanted bright blush spread across his ears and he tried to shake it off cut just as fast as Mimi got close, he moved away again to Connor’s disappointment and placed himself on a secure distance at the pool edge, the water glistening on top of him. A shame really, Connor thought, the blonde looked even more handsome up close.
Looking up, green eyes met the other’s brown and he smiled. “You’re not so bad yourself, thank you very much. And you know, you gotta watch these” he pointed at the sun freckles Mimi’d shown him. “Incredibly cute, just like mine, but can turn into dangerously cute if not being cared for. Or so I’ve heard. And since ramen’s my favourite at the moment; I’d love to get something to eat, Mr. Photographer-san!” His smile turned into another grin and he went to join Mimi’s side on top of the pool’s edge, knee bumping into knee. “My treat if you show me some of your pictures”

Pushing the wet hair behind his ears, he watched as Connor came closer and bit down on his lip at the bumps to the knees. Sure, he was used to talking, but flirting he had to actually think about. He looked at the sun freckles and then snorted a bit , rubbing at them as if that would make them go away.
"I don't think they're cute. I get more every time I sun, I swear to God! But I like my tan, so..." He shrugged and then leaned back, looking up at the blue sky. Or he was until a kid ran through his hair and pulled it with his toes. He yelped and grabbed his head, looking behind him to glare at the kid. "Watch where you're stepping, kid!" He said, gathering up his hair again, rubbing where it had been yanked.
Drawing a knee to his chest, he put his head on it, hair dangling between him and Connor. "Well, glad you like ramen. Being a college kid I can hardly afford anything else since I don't have a job yet. No one's lookin' for a photographer who's still in college. .....Though I could get a part time job. Maybe at a dessert shop..." Mimi loved little cakes like that, but couldn't eat them every day. "We could go for coffee after that..." And he was an addict to coffee. Always got him hyper and ready to do anything.

To end up in a more comfortable position he leaned backwards onto his arms, absent-mindedly kicking at the water. His face turned to the perfectly blue sky and he closed his eyes, sighing happily. Well-sculptured, wet chest glistening in the sun shine that already had begun drying his black and red trunks. Connor truly loved nice weather. “But they are cute, they suit you. I wish I could stay in the sun a whole lot more but I burn way too easily..”
Squinting his eyes open, he glanced over at Mimi just in time for him to get stepped on which made him sit up with a concerned frown across his fore head. “You okay?” he worried but it seemed as if the blonde was quite okay so he relaxed a little. “I’m starting to see why you hate kids. You have any younger siblings or do things like this keep happening to you?”
Connor shifted back into his earlier position and shivered as the blonde hair tickled his arm. “I know exactly what you mean.. I don’t have a job either and people around here aren’t rather keen on hiring foreigners. Plus, everything is so damn expensive! And it doesn’t exactly help having your father stop sending money” he mumbled more to himself than to Mimi and shook his head, returning with a smile. “I could kill for a cup of coffee, seriously. Coffee’s my true anti-drug if you look past the caffeine.. and my occasional smoking. So absolutely coffee. You wanna go now before, who knows, you suffer from death by running kid?”

"Well, if you insist..." he said, leaning over and murmuring it in his ear as if it were a secret. He chuckled as he got up, hair no doubt hitting Connor. "Let's go get dried and changed. Same changing room, you know."
He said it as if it were the simplest thing in the world, changing next to a good looking guy you just met. Then again, Mimi didn't care what others thought about him. He knew he was slim and slender enough to be labeled as 'skinny' and 'nerdy'. Hell, he couldn't see too well without his glasses. But he had contacts in just for swimming, he never wore them any time else.
He grabbed his towel from the chair he'd been asleep on before and dried off as he walked towards the changing building. No doubt it'd be cold in there.

A small shiver went through Connor’s body as Mimi spoke right beside his ear, warm breath hitting it. He watched as the man beside him got up and did so himself once the other was up. “Right…” he mumbled as the thought of having the same changing room hadn’t really occurred to him until Mimi’d mentioned it. That was a new one, stripping in and out of clothes next to a potential catch he’d only known for a couple of minutes. Not sure what he felt about that.
Once up on his feet he stretched towards the sky and let out a yawn, the sun was starting to make him sleepy, he’d had enough of it for one day. Walking behind the blonde made him realise that he was almost a head taller than him which made him chuckle, but Connor preferred shorter men.
His own belongings, a towel and an Advanced Math’s textbook, laid just a couple of feet from Mimi’s chair and he fetched them. With the way too thick and heavy book in his hand, the towel swung over his shoulder he followed Mimi to the changing rooms in the gray building. The men’s changing room laid to the left and the room wasn’t exactly huge and on a sunny day like this it was pretty crowded.
“Aah, I hate it when it’s as crowded as this..” he mumbled to the blonde in front of him and barely managed to finish the sentence before he was accidentally bumped into Mimi by an older man who squeezed his way through the door post, which also resulted in him dropping his book that landed on the floor with such a loud bang that it might as well had been a gun going off. “Shit!” he hissed as it almost hit his foot and since the sound had startled him.

The book falling scared Mimi as much as it did Connor and caused him to jump slightly, that long hair tangling around his arms and hips. The Japanese man couldn't help but laugh at his own fear and shook his head, looking up to Connor with a little grin before puckering his lips with a wink. Flirting, he was, even in a crowded place such as this. Luckily for them, most of them were going out towards the pool. It was still early, after all.
Weaving in and out of the bodies, Mimi had the grace of a dancer instead of a photographer. It was a weird combination of him rolling his hips to one side and his body to another to fit between two men.
Finally, the tanned youth made it to his locker and he sighed a bit, stretching out. This far back was clear of people, since the usuals took lockers closer to the front. Mimi was smarter, though. He knew better. "So, Connor," he said, assuming the other was close at hand. He opened his locker and looked in the mirror. He was a bit more than, but not like he wanted it. Snorting, Mimi stripped off his school speedo and rubbed at the small indentions left on his hips and stomach caused by the tight elastic. "You legal to drink yet?" He asked, eyes flashing towards the Irish. "I was thinking we could do some karaoke later, you know? And what's karaoke without beer?"
