The plane had arrived in Tokyo extremely early in the morning or, depending on what schedule you were on, extremely late at night. However, because of the time difference between the two countries, Aaron knew he wouldn't be able to get any sort of sleep. Nor was it going to be possible for his host family to pick him up from the airport at this ungodly hour, and so he decided to do his own thing for a few hours (at least until daylight came around) in the airport itself.
He had gotten carried away with some research he had been meaning to do and, before he knew it, it was already nearing mid-morning.
A cab was easily found, his bags packed away in the trunk and in the seat next to him, the cabbie told his destination from a printed-out e-mail from weeks before and, after a while, the house was found.
This was it, this was the moment he had been looking forward to. Other than getting away from his family and attending the school here in Japan, he had mostly been excited about meeting his new host family. Aaron gathered his bags and made his way up to the front door and, with a swipe to his bangs and a press to his glasses, raised a hand, took a breath, and knocked.
He just hoped they hadn't forgotten about his arrival today.

With technological advancements, Nishi'd had various devices over the course of the years that reminded him of things that were occurring on a daily basis. When he was really young, he'd been reminded by telephone (his manager) or his mother, though when he got older he was given a PDA. Eventually he got a cell phone with the same features, only better...And he routinely added things to his schedule. Weeks beforehand, he'd programmed that his hosted student would be arriving.
It woke him up that morning and he'd stared at the alert, simply put, 'Aaron-kun arrives~' and realized that he hadn't prepared -anything-. Shocked and disoriented, he made several phone calls. Nishi wasn't positive when he would arrive, though he had gotten the flight time. So, he'd taken care to put a sushi restaurant on call to send a tray over whenever he did call. In the meantime, he picked up some welcoming drinks and snacks for the meantime.
He'd fallen asleep by the time he heard the knock, jolting awake on the dining room table (Western-style, like most of the house). Blinking away his sleepiness, he fixed his hair and appearance and hoped he didn't look exactly like how he was - just waking up. He'd pulled on an outfit he'd worn recently in a shoot, hoping to appear like a responsible and positive Nii-chan like how he was supposed to...he thought that kind of thing would help in a first impression as well. It didn't occur to him that he might look too flashy, shiny, and like what he was - an idol.
Pulling the door open, he was all smiles and greeted the boy at his door with a warm tone. "Hello, Aaron-kun~"

Aaron stood there for a couple of minutes, becoming more and more worried as time passed. Had they actually forgotten? Had they gone out somewhere? Maybe...maybe they just didn't hear the knock, yes, that was probably it. The boy chewed his bottom lip and raised his hand to knock again when the door practically burst open to reveal a man that looked almost as if he had just stepped off stage.
"Ah, m-morning!" Aaron managed after recovering from the small shock, "You must be Akagi Nishi, it's nice to finally meet you," he added with a smile of one still not quite sure he was doing things right. He had read so much about protocol in Japan, but he still felt like he could have used some more studying. Not to mention his studies hadn't included too much slang. Guess he would just have to get it himself: the scientific method had usually served him well.

Nishi didn't know what to say for a few seconds as well, he didn't know many Americans very well. He had, of course, been in contact but he meeting in person was always quite different. Though he prided himself a social being with little to no awkwardness to speak of, it was still different to say 'welcome, glad you're staying in my home!'. Since Aaron would be staying for quite some time.
Bowing, he was still smiling. "That's me, and you're Aaron Halvard. Come in~" He moved aside, gesturing for Aaron to come in. Unlike the Western style of the house, the entryway was still Japanese style and at the moment Nishi was in a pair of comfortable slippers. "Are you hungry?"

"Thank you, and yes, I am, actually," Aaron said, picking up a couple of the bulging bags and wandering inside. Or, rather, waddling, since the weight of the things hindered his movement.
He was actually quite hungry. Having gotten so engrossed in looking up interesting things he had completely forgotten about getting food, and so hadn't eaten since he had first landed.
Making his way into the entryway of the house, he set his bags on the floor before bending down to untie his shoes.
((ick, short >_< ))

Nishi reached and took one of Aaron's bags. "Okay," He said, grabbing a phone from the hallway and holding it to his ear, "Do you like sushi? I've got some other things, but they're mostly snacky things." He held the bag with ease, it weighed almost as much as he could bench press. It was also still a little early, but he'd always thought there was no such thing as too early to eat sushi.
Aaron's room was on the first floor, a nice one that faced the garden. He'd set it up a bit simply, figuring that he'd want to decorate it himself. Therefore, a bed with striped coverlet and desk were the only things inside...Nishi didn't know if Aaron would want anything else (and wasn't sure if he'd ask).

"Oh, yes I love sushi!" Aaron said with a smile, finally managing to step out of his shoes and up onto the floor of the rest of the house. Sushi actually sounded rather good, then again, at this point, pretty much anything would sound good as long as it was food.
The boy moved the bag to the side so that it was out of the way before squatting down and opening one of the side pockets to take out a pair of flip-flops he had brought from home. He went back over to the shoes area and slipped them on, not really wanting to have to tie his sneakers again, and went to get the other two bags (smaller than the first two) he had brought and brought them inside, closing the door behind him.

Nishi was genuinely excited to have Aaron in his home. He wasn't sure if he'd properly explained that he was the only one here, but he wasn't sure if that was an issue. In the form he'd filled out, he'd also put his father (who'd provided his signature at his request, deciding that some company would do Nishi some good...to which he'd laughingly said he wasn't a rabbit...though certainly could use a friend around) down as a member of the household, since the property was legally in his name and all...
"Great," he said with a big smile, hitting redial on the phone. "Ah, hello...Please send over the order as soon as you have it prepared~" The person on the other line told him it would take a little while, since it was quite a large serving...But they'd hurry it along as quickly as possible. Hanging up, he turned to Aaron. "Need any help unpacking?"

"I think that would be ok," he said, referring to not really needing help unpacking, his wording not quite correct, "but could you help me carry the bags? That one is heavy," he added with a bit of an embarrassed laugh, tossing his head to one of the smaller bags he had just brought in as he bent to pick up one of the bigger ones from before.
The smaller bag was quite heavy, even heavier than one of the larger bags, being almost entirely filled with books.

Nishi reached for the bag, picking it up with an intake of breath. "Ah, it is a bit heavy," he said, grinning. His manager had arranged a gym membership for him years beforehand, the result of it being he was able to pick up the bag with more ease...but it was still full of books. He brought it to the room and set it beside the desk, wondering if he should have purchased a bookcase....well, he'd get one later and sneak it in.
"Welcome to Japan," he said to Aaron, recalling he hadn't said so yet. He'd rehearsed this ages ago, but forgotten most of it. "I hope you enjoy your stay here with me..."

Aaron followed Nishi into the simple room, glad that it was furnished so sparsely...though, a little disappointed with the lack of a bookcase. He would just have to get one later.
The boy blinked a little, being brought back from his thoughts as Nishi spoke, smiling brightly at the welcome, "Thank you! I'm sure I will!"
Aaron had a good feeling that this stay in Japan would be an interesting one. It was a shame he didn't know just how interesting it would get.
