[To any who decide to be his first male customer. xD]
The night was young, the club had just opened and the first customers were filtering into the dimly lit place and pairing off with their regular or chosen boys. Hayato sat at the bar, long legs straight as he only used the bar stool to prop himself up, since it was bolted to the floor there wasn't the issue of whether it would fall over or not of course. He had a glass of fresh, chilled orange juice in his hand, taking a sip of the beverage and licking the sticky orange dew from his lips once he was done and the half-full glass was set down on the bar again.
He had a pleasant expression on his features, friendly and inviting so any women, or men, that came in with another host may notice him and decide they wanted to give him a try next time they were here. He looked at his watch and then finished his juice, standing up and disappearing into the back rooms where they usually waited for the call that a customer wanted them. At least that's how this club did things anyway.
He wondered which would be first, he was number two at the club so he usually had a lot of work to do. Since it was a Friday he thought perhaps Rei may show up and ask for him. She was a pretty little thing, mid thirties and un-married she spent a lot of time working and was actually very sought after in her line of work so she made a fair bit of money. Most of which she spent on Hayato of course. That's the way things usually played out on a Friday evening, but of course there were always the odd days when his regular customers were running late or couldn't make it for some reason so he ended up with a new face to flirt with. Either way he didn't mind.
He stood in-front of one of the full length mirrors and tweaked his hair a bit before smoothing his hands down his pale blue shirt, the sleeves of which were rolled to just below the elbows, and white dress pants. He wasn't wearing a blazer, it was far too warm for that and nor was he wearing a tie, opting to just let the top two buttons lay un-done so his customers could get a good, teasing glance at his collarbones. Of course his shoes were white as well, polished and classy.

(to Yuki! > I mean, Hayato...xD) It was early when Daikichi's meeting got out. He'd explained to the other buchou about what his department had accomplished, what they hadn't...It was generally the same as usual. It was after he was getting ready to leave that one, an associate, someone he had gotten to know while he'd been working there, approached him. A suggestion to go out, get a drink together. He'd agreed, after a bit of persuasion. However, he hadn't been careful enough to find out where this would be. "Hatta-buchou, I think you'll enjoy this place," said his subordinate, grinning widely as they stood in front of the door. "It's the best known in the area." Of course, Daikichi had certainly heard of it. The most popular host clubs were spoken of in many conversations, particularly when he was among those who knew his preferences. This particular coworker did, since they'd run into each other ages ago while in the company of a same-sex partner. That had been quite some time ago, before he'd been promoted. "Yamada-san," he said with a sigh, "You couldn't have mentioned this earlier?" Yamada merely grinned and opened the door and Daikichi, unable to say no, stepped inside. It was entirely like how he expected, looking up at the sign board. He could certainly afford a variety of the more expensive drinks on a host club's menu. It didn't mean he often went to places like this, but he certainly couldn't remember the last time. When someone came to greet them, Yamada quickly pointed out a boy he wanted to go with and then gestured toward Daikichi. "Give buchou one of the best, please," he said with a wide grin before taking off. The boy pointed at the position of the number two and Daikichi nodded quickly. It didn't matter, at the moment, he didn't want to wait that long in the reception area. Before the boy went off, he gave his information...he didn't want to pay right when he left, he preferred the bill be sent to him. That evening, he was of course dressed for work. The coolness of the evening didn't affect him because of his suit, so he'd gone without a jacket. He didn't require an umbrella, either, because he could simply flag a taxi. They'd taken a car here, rather than walk or taking the subway, since Yamada had volunteered to drive. The boy went off in search of the person, Yuki. Knowing that it was a pseudonym, Daikichi couldn't help the curiosity of his real name and why he picked that name.

Hayato turned his body and made sure the back of his attire was as neat as the front, it was of course and he grinned at himself in the reflective glass before someone came into the room. One of the other hosts left after being talked to and he shrugged with a sigh. However not a moment later someone else came in and walked over to him. “Yo, you got a customer.” He said.
“Oh... and it's a guy.” He grinned and Hayato blinked at him. A guy huh... first for everything he supposed. “What's wrong with that?” He smirked and flicked the younger man on the end of his nose before walking out of the room. The light haired host walked into the reception and toward the man waiting there, his winning smile placed upon his features, same as ever.
“Hey there, I'm Yuki, it's nice to meet you.” He of course started with the pleasantries although he would wait for an introduction once they were more comfortable. “I got a really good table for us over in the corner. Shall we go?” He smiled even wider and pressed a hand lightly between the man's shoulders, urging him to walk toward the table in the corner.
Once they got there he sat down on the leather covered bench and scooted across to the corner, waiting for his client to sit down. “Come sit here and tell me about yourself, if you like.” He patted the place next to him. He felt a little awkward, but he was trying to act as natural as possible, it was just odd is all, it wasn't like he was opposed to the idea of entertaining a man. He doubted he'd get asked for pillow service. The guy looked too straight lace for that.

Daikichi was a bit startled at the touch to his back, but he got over it pretty quickly. Hosts were supposed to be friendly, so it wasn't that strange. It was his first encounter with a male one, he'd been dragged off to a hostess club several times before with other buchou and even once with the shachou of his company. Nodding slightly, he let himself be lead and sat down with the boy.
He didn't mention anything about drinks just yet, but decided to give the boy his card in order to introduce himself. Lifting hand, he pulled one out of his pocket. Handing it to the boy, he bowed slightly. It read, simply, his name and that he was buchou at his company, a company that made various kinds of products.
"Nice to meet you," he said formally, leaning back up. He was curious, actually, about if this boy had hosted men before. If not, they were experiencing a different version of what they were used to. Leaning back, he supposed he could relax. Perhaps enjoy a glass of wine or a brandy...with this young host, whose job was to help him relax. "Something about me..."
Considering this for a moment, he decided that meant the boy wanted to know something personal about him. His basic facts, name and occupation, were on that card, so there was no need to tell him about that. So, he picked something about where he lived. "At my home, I have a cat named Tama."

Hayato took the card that was offered and looked it over, so this guy had a pretty good position at a decent company, maybe he'd make a decent amount of money tonight then, if he played his cards right. “Can I call you Dai-san?” He asked, after all nick names made people relax and feel closer, usually. This guy looked a bit pent up so he wasn't sure if it would go down too well, but he'd try anyway.
Tama, it was a pretty common name for a cat and Hayato couldn't help but smile at that, leaning back. “Ah, Tama-chan neh? I bet he's cute... or is it a girl?” He said smoothly, folding one leg over the other and resting his elbow on the back of the booths seating, leaning on his hand. “Do you like animals then? I do, but unfortunately where I live we can't have any.” He didn't add in how he fed strays with leftover beef stew or anything like that, because it wasn't particularly glamorous to do something like that.
He was trying to act natural, and so far it was going well... he thought. “Is this your first time in a place like this Dai-san? I've never seen you here before.” He kept his winning smile plastered to his lips, the hand he wasn't leaning on dropped to smooth over his own thigh for a moment, straightening out his pants. He wondered if this guy was a big drinker, what kinds of alcohol he liked and if he really was into guys or if he was just here as a favour to someone who had dragged him along.

A lot of people at Daikichi's company would end up calling him nicknames. He'd said outright that he didn't mind it, but usually they ended up calling him Buchou to his face. He could hear them otherwise, his name or a variation there of would pop up in their conversation. He didn't even care if this boy didn't call him thusly.
"Dai-san is fine," he said, recalling his cat again. The little creature would need to be fed soon. "Tama is a female, yes...A calico..."
Even as a child, he hadn't cared for places like zoos or aquariums. He'd liked the family cat, but that was about the extent of his interest in animals. His parents had never really wanted to bring him to those kinds of places, anyway, so he'd never really had the chance. "Not particularly," he said, leaning back, "Tama was to be a gift to my niece, but circumstances followed and she was raised at my place instead."
Looking around them briefly, he looked back at Yuki. "I've been to a hostess bar, but not one like this," he said, recalling the last time. "For this place, it's my first time. So, why don't we celebrate? A champagne would be nice, but please forget the call."
He didn't like attention brought to himself in public places. So, having all the hosts gather around to sing or whatever would not have been fun for him.

Hayato was glad that he could call the other man by the nick name, it made the situation seem a little more relaxed and he felt like they could get closer to each other with the use of things like that. “Oh a Calico, I've never seen one close up before. I bet she's really cute.” He said being completely honest.
His fingers idly traced the leather of the seat while Daikichi spoke about how he came to have the cat. “Aw that's a shame. But it's not a bad thing to own a pet, I've always wanted to.” He was smiling widely again , the topic of animals was a nice one and it wasn't too difficult to keep up unlike some of the more lewd conversations his female clients came up with. Honestly, women these days were getting more and more perverted.
“I see, well let's hope you have a great time here with me then!” He said cheerily and then nodded at the request not to call. “I'll be right back then. Dai-san. Please don't think too badly of me for leaving you alone! You can see me from here, the bars only a few feet away.” He said before standing up and sliding past Daikichi, his front facing the table and his back facing the other man as the backs of his knees brushed the other males legs.
Hayato walked over to the bar and got a nice bottle of champagne, not too expensive because he didn't want to push his luck, but a nice sparkling and chilled drink for the celebration, and two champagne glasses. All in all he was less than a minute away and he hurried back. “Sorry about that. Here.” He said, handing one of the glasses to Daikichi while he opened the champagne with a pop, bubbles foaming down over his knuckles where he was holding the neck of the bottle.

Tama was living up to her name, her roundness was likely a result of Daikichi giving her food with too much nutrients in it...More or less overfeeding her, but the veterinarian had written exactly how much food she should eat and what kind so she was losing weight. He preferred a living, healthy cat to one who was pampered and fed rich foods. He'd never really thought about the cat's food until he met the facts squarely.
Taking the champagne glass, he held it in one hand and watched Yuki open it, the bubbles...It seemed quite messy. The scent of it reached his nose and he could already anticipate the taste, sharp and with a crisp alcoholic flavor. He could see the brand as well, noting that he'd tried it before.
"Yuki-kun," he said, addressing the boy for the first time, "Why not tell me more about yourself, for now? I'm afraid I most likely don't have much to say of interest to you..."
Daikichi had a hard time talking to people his own age, or younger...He could assess the situation and call forth some topics, but he preferred it if the other person was fluent in communication and therefore could lead their conversation. He would do so if necessary, otherwise he likely wouldn't have gotten a promotion a couple years back. It wasn't like standing there waiting for someone to talk got him that job. Though he was sure that Yuki would be able to make anything he said sound interesting, but he thought it best if he had something of genuine interest to talk about.

Hayato leaned in to lick some of the bubbles from his knucles, though his tongue never touched the bottle at all. He tilted his head as he poured the bubbly liquid into his customers glass and was asked to speak about himself. “Ah but you know. I think I'll find anything you have to say to me interesting. Dai-san.” He smiled again, using his natural host charm.
Hayato poured himself a glass before sitting down again, lifting the glass to his lips to take a sip of the champagne with a coy smile. “But if you really want to hear about me, then I'm not going to deny you what you want... Dai-san.” He said in a rather intimate tone, obviously trying to make it feel like it were just the two of them instead of being in a host club full of people. That way he felt like the other man could relax a little.
“You know why I became a host?” He said, taking another sip of his champagne and licking his lips, it was just his kind of drink. “It's because I get to meet interesting people all the time. And the work hours don't start too early.” He gave a grin that was almost bashful, but still full of charm. “It's because I'm not really a morning person, even though I've tried to be in the past.”

At times, Daikichi considered himself quite dull. It was strange, then, that when this host used one of his (likely) patented lines to make his heart flutter a bit...it did. A minuscule amount, at the very least. He figured it as falling under a spell, almost tempted to utter a mantra or two to keep himself focused. Just because the boy was cute, had sweet things to say...he wasn't an older woman to be swayed by a host's pretty face and charming attitude.
"Nn," he said, nodding slightly. "My work hours start early, but I am not a morning person...I have to wake an hour early just to make it so I can function properly."
Not to mention the three cups of coffee he had to drink, since the first two didn't kick in when he wanted them to. As Buchou, Daikichi had to arrive a bit earlier than everyone else in order to set a good example. It was a negative reinforcer for his workers, who would arrive later fewer times since they knew they could be berated by their boss when they arrived.
"In other words, I can see why you would do so..." He took a drink of the champage, the bitter alcoholic taste suiting his own taste as well. "As a host, I would imagine you can hold your liquor quite well, now..." Daikichi mused, thinking back to his first social drinking event. He'd surprised his coworkers who'd been hoping to drunken the new worker for their company by holding it better than anyone in the room.

Hayato smiled, leaning back on the padded bench style seat and folding one leg over the other arching his back in a languid stretch as he took another sip of his drink. “Well, I wont lie – it depends on how much I've had of which drink. But I'm usually drunk by the time my shift finishes. Since I would have been drinking for eight hours solid.” He felt a little bit like an alcoholic when he said that out loud, but it was part of his job so he wasn't going to complain.
Hayato reached into his pocket and pulled out his half-empty box of Lucky Strikes, leaning to place his champagne on the table. “Do you mind if I smoke, Dai-san?” He let one corner of his mouth twitch into a cheeky smile. “If you would like one too that's fine.” He waved his hand a little to emphasise that fact for the other man. To be honest his smoking habit was a little out of control, he'd most certainly die young if his lifestyle kept as it was, but Hayato didn't really think that was such a bad thing. To live life getting drunk and sleeping with lots of women before dying, at least he'd have had fun!

"It must get a little tiring," Daikichi said, thinking about all the alcohol the boy likely consumed. It wasn't healthy, and he knew for fact that despite his own tolerance, if he became drunk, he would still wake up the next morning and have a humming migraine in his head the next day at work. His subordinates didn't enjoy it, since it increased his impatience tenfold.
Eyeing Yuki's cigarettes, Daikichi considered reaching for his own pack in the inside pocket of his coat. It was a much more charming idea to think that the boy was offering his own, he decided to amuse himself by accepting. Lucky Strikes weren't Daikichi's usual brand but he didn't mind it. Seeing the boy smoke awoke his need for nicotine suddenly and he nodded. "I would, thank you." he said, leaning back a bit to relax as well. He rarely gave himself the chance for an outing like this, so he might as well enjoy it.

He smiled charmingly and pulled two cigarettes out from the pack, placing one between his own lips and letting it hang there as he leaned toward Daikichi and slipped the other cancer-stick between the older man's lips. With one arm leaning on the seat behind the other man, Hayato dug for his silver lighter and pulled it out of his pocket. The host leaned in so the tips of the cigarettes were touching before flipping his lighter, a warm glow sparking in-front of them as the flame took to the ends of the cigarettes and smoke started to lazily float into the air.
When they were lit he put the lighter back in his pocket but kept the cozy closeness between them, pulling his own out of his mouth to blow the smoke out lazily. “Maa... Dai-san. Are you finding this relaxing? It must be pretty tense working in an office all day. If there's anything I can do for you just let me know.” Yet another winning smile, his fingers playing at the leather of the seat as his arm remained resting along the top of it behind Daikichi. He wasn't coming onto the man, merely trying to make him feel more comfortable, and if he was told that he was too close he'd simply move away.

Daikichi's lips had pursed just slightly when the cigarette was between his lips, unflinching when the young host's fingers were so close to his mouth. His expression, constantly neutral, as edging toward a smile as his eyes narrowed slightly when their cigarettes were lit, leaning back just slightly as his hand rose to take it from his lips as he let the smoke from between his lips.
It wasn't easy for Daikichi to break his own 'rules'. He generally allowed himself little freedom when it came to socializing. Physical closeness, speaking of his personal life...Those were things he usually saved for occasions that never happened. It was likely that his own past romantic relationships had suffered strictly for these reasons. So far, he was sure that this host had taken care to show that this kind of thing was 'okay'. He'd been considering allowing himself to think this, and after that lovely display with their cigarettes, he'd decided it was.
"Un," he said in a casual confirmation that there was something. "Yuki-kun, what are the after-hour rates?"

He leaned his head to the side, letting it rest against the wall as he took another drag on his cigarette and let the smoke drift from his parted lips lazily. The question that came out of Daikichi's mouth after that was only half-unexpected and Hayato would try his best to answer the same way he did with women, even though this was his first time being asked by a man.
“Hmm...” He started, his expression the same as always though his cheeks had started to turn a flushed shade. “It depends on what kind of service. If it's just company it's time and a half, if it's pillow service that you want... it's double.” He felt like he'd started to lightly tremble, and he really hoped the other man hadn't noticed, because he didn't want to lose business just because he was scared of doing it with a guy for the first time.
